Our scatter plot titled Earthquake Count by Year shows the number of earthquakes recorded per each year within our dataset.

The more we approach the 21st century, the more earthquake occurrences which are also observed. This is most likely due to the vast advancements in technology which have allowed for more precise monitoring and recording of earthquake events.


Maximum Magnitude

The magnitude is a number that characterizes the relative size of an earthquake.

Average Depth of Focus (km)

The depth of focus or focal depth refers to how deep within the earth an earthquake occurs.

Earthquake Count

The earthquake count goes back as far 1600; however, it was noted that data was limited prior to 1900.
